Pinchoz - Shirley & Rudy's birthday (290809)

Another event attended during the Merdeka weekend - Shirley & Rudy's (of Pinchoz@Changkat Bukit Bintang) birthday celebration. Location - Next to Le Bouchon. A whole night of good food (tapas, of course. It's a tapa's bar!!) great wine & most importantly, great company!

* Initial choices of outfit:

Btw, I tried out my new Victoria Secret Very Voluptuous Mascara in Very Black. Bad news is, it's not available in Malaysia (bought it during one of my shopping spree @ Changi Airport during one of my biz trips 2 months ago). I would rate it a 3.5-4 out of 5. It really adds extreme volume to the lashes and application wise - very soft & smooth flowing. Price - $30 (Singaporean Dollar).

Between the two, i prefer Billi Billi Pinot Grigio more, though some prefer the top one (pic) - McGuigan 2008 Pinot Grigio.

After a few drinks (reds, whites, champers, corona), everyone succumbed to further cam-whoring *LOL*..

What a night!!! *phew* ..

W opening

Attended the opening of a new pub last night called, W cafe & bistro at The Strand, Kota Damansara. It's located directly opposite the Parking, one of the other pubs around that area. In conjunction with the official opening, finger foods and free flow of Carlsberg were served from 6-8pm. Basically, i would say this area (The Strand) is still very new..unlike Sunway Damansara shops, area where my bro's pub (*wink*), Just Divine is located. However, i foresee this area would turn out to be something like Bangsar at the rate those restaurants, cafes & boutiques are mushrooming. Traffic - massive jam in the area alone.Range of drinks served at W :- liquors (Chivas, Remy Martin, Martell, Glenfiddich etc..), local beer (Carlsberg - draft), Hoegarden - draft & O' Connors - draft..

My personal opinion of W:-

1) Place too small.

2) Crowd - Elderly (particularly males ard 30 & above)

3) To reach the place, you would have to brave through a massive jam towards kota damansara.

Next, we proceeded to Purple Mango, located among the shops in Sunway Damansara, just minutes away from W. Previously, i was criticizing W for being too small, Purple Mango to my utter most disappointment turned out to be so much smaller compared to W. Btw, to the guys out there who seeks companionship while drinking, Filipino chicos are available here. Crowd range - 30's & above males. Check out the pics of the place :-

* One of the few available booths ..not that comfy for my taste.

Personal opinion, more for guys (older ones, who seek companionship while drinking) and certainly not worth braving through the massive jam from the Curve all the way to Kota Damansara, unless you are staying nearby. ANDDDD to all the pretty ladies, do not ever endanger yourself by going there without any male companions. You would be eaten alive (serious!!).

The Library Soft Launch

Attended the Library's soft launch last wednesday (19th aug). It's located inside Cineleisure, to those who have been to Mystique before, you would be able to find the place quite easily. Many would find the place a tad too small for one's taste (maybe just the inside area). Some pictures of the place (p/s:- was actually doing research on behalf of my brother).

* Theme - Library (duh!! >.<)

* Interior - looking just like a library (sorry bout the blurry pic)

* Live band (not really that fantastic)

* Exterior - open concept (Note: - Look at the crowd, all there for the free flow)

* Upstairs - Pool area

To those who love playing pool (me!me!), there are 3 brand new pool tables available.

* Upstairs - the other side. Behind the man in specs (left), there's a glass door leading to another open area for people to chill out. On the right side (where guy holding a glass is standing), is a small vip area overlooking downstairs.

Note: Guy holding a glass is actually quite cute (*wink*)

Overall, i would give a 2.5 out of 5. Reason being, the place was too small and the music was not really that entertaining. I would say it is a place to have a drink or two, chill out, play pool and you can actually have a conversation without having to scream your lungs out. Btw, there's a talent contest going on. So, to those who think they have a talent for singing, acting etc.. and who's in need of cash, you might probably stand a chance here. Quote : The Library welcomes talent of all kinds!

We proceeded to the Curve for a pint of imported beer and in search for food. Decided on Bavarian Bierhaus (located behind TGI Fridays) instead of Sanctuary (too noisy), thought we could grab a bite to eat BUTTT, the d*** kitchen was closed. ASs!!!!

Post accident - Ear inflammation. There were yellowish, clear liquid constantly leaking from my right ear. Basically, the feeling was like when you have water stuck in your ears after swimming or diving. Initial diagnosis was cerebral something something... (can't remember the term >.<), i would say something very serious and usually caused by impact to the brain due to accidents etc.. But, thank goodness it wasn't. Then, he suspected it was otitis media. So, he did a scan and found that my right ear drum was slightly inflamed. If it was that cerebral thingy, the ear drum would have been ruptured or punctured. And i had a big surprise when i wanted to make payment. All of my medications, including consultation for my ear inflammation were FREE!! That kind doc of mine didn't want to charge me anything. I felt so bad but he kept insisting on it. Anyways, below are some pics of the medications he prescribed :-

* Imovane - Sleeping pill (Believe me! i need it after 2 weeks of sleepless nights)

As you can see now, i am currently fully stocked up with medications to counter sleepless nights and stressful days =). I would say i am recovering pretty quickly, all thanks to retail therapy (kudos to that) and at same time, burning a hole in my wallet (*aiks*). Anyways, how can you walk away when there's a Mega Sales going on and this is the last week for discounted purchases. Some of the last season Aldo shoes (btw, they change season every 2 weeks) were selling at half price, with the discounts ranging from 30-50%, which is actually good enough, considering the price range for a pair of decent, chic looking pair of Aldo's were roughly around rm400 and above. Here are pics of the 2 pairs that i got from 1-Utama outlet (more choices there among the Aldo branches):-

Aren't they lovely? How can a gal say no to SHOES???? *LOL* .. Had my eyes on a third pair of heels (one of a kind i would say) which was only selling for rm234 after 50% disc..gosh!! Was in the midst of considering whether i should get it as well when the sweet promoter told me that it would still be on sales even after the Mega Sales ended. Howeverrrrr...me, being me, once i've got my eyes set on something, shoes in particular, i can't stop thinking about it till i get it. Hence, i've decided to get it next week after i receive my paycheck. Oh, almost forgot! A great purchase from Zara..guess wat? Another pair of shoes (*hehe*), flats this time.
