One down and 2 more to go ..

As mentioned earlier, I attended the much anticipated interview yesterday and am glad to say, it went quite well. Bit tedious and thorough but hope my effort is not wasted. I've to admit that I was a wee bit nervous actually while I was heading towards the place. Hehe ... after talking to my interviewer (the Sales Manager), who turned out to be pretty nice, I felt more at ease.

Next, there will be 2 more sessions to go - 2nd round with the National Sales Manager and HR; 3rd round with Sales Director (Yikes! sounds a bit scary, huh?). Anyways, I am trying to be as calm as possible and to maintain a neutral expectation. Reason, basically to avoid unwanted disappointments. But still, fingers and toes are crossed!! ;P

Btw, good news for Chaos (my webshop), had a bit of sales earlier on Monday at Frenny, R's nail academy and also, some later that night. Not a bad start!! Hope there's more to come! In order to keep myself occupied and steering my mind away from the upcoming 2nd and 3rd interview sessions, I plan am going to make full use of my time to  concentrate more on my current project.

This afternoon, I met up with two of my ex-colleagues for a Ninja Joe lunch ..*hieeeyakkk* .. Teehee! Pork burger, it is!! Yums .. I tried the Big Boss (a similar version to McD's Big Mac, minus the beef and huge portion) this time.

Dessert - What else besides Bobalicious Smoothies? Haha .. I was so into my Soury Fizz (strawberry, passionfruit & lemon) drinky that I totally forgot to take a photo of it. Oopsie daisie!!

Back at home now, had a 'satay' supper with W. Full and bloated = sleepy!! Off to bed soon...

*Zzzzzz*

Dessert (frozen yoghurt!!), dinner & football ...

OOohh.. am so satisfied that I've finallyyyyyy managed to devour a cup of frozen yoghurt just now. Teehee... went on a hunt for Bulla's (Aussie brand) Mango Passionfruit Frozen Yoghurt at Cold Storage, only to be disappointed by the absence of it. However, I was not deterred and there it was, at New Zealand's Natural .. *sighs* .. And obviously, I had to order my favourite, which was the Mango Passionfruit. Mmmm... think I'm going to have a second round of it tomorrow.

Here's some pics of this delightful dessert :-

* It was absolutely deliciousssss!!! Can't wait to have more...Totally addictive!! *

Btw, frenny of mine, F, bought a 40" trampoline today ... seems fun! Am gonna have a go at it tomorrow after my interview. It looks pretty sturdy and comes with a warranty. Time for some exercise after months of being a slacking bum at home. ;)

Dinner was at Kota Damansara's Food Court, did a bit of hunting for the steamfish (not hard to find, actually). It is located right in the heart of the bustling Sunway Damansara, Kota Damansara (opposite Restaurant Traditional Recipe or if you know where Kedai Kopi D.U is, just up the road on your left hand side). Chailan Delicious Steamed Fish was our destination of choice. A corner stall at the foodcourt, famous for it's fresh tilapia steamed fish, of course!!

* Fresh Tilapia with Light Soya Sauce *

* Steamed eggs with clams *

The steamed fish absolutely hits the spot and the steamed eggs with clams was definitely a thumbs up... For those who have been to Lan Je Steam Fish (famous in Rawang), you would definitely love Chailan as well for sure.

Disappointment of the day, would be the England vs. Germany match. Wth!!! Such a poor game played by England. Good job Germany!! Though the 'supposingly' 2nd goal by England would've made not much of a difference to the game (Stupid linesman, it was definitely a goal. He must be blind or bribed to not see that!!! @#$%%), I have to admit that in terms of strategy and defense, Germany certainly was well-off in this sector than England. So byebye England and congratulations to Germany!!

Oops! 1 am now ..I'd better get ready to hit the sack early and prepare for tomorrow's interview... Hehe ..  Am kinda excited now. Hope I'll have good news to blog about tomorrow!!! May luck be with me!!!

Hit by the past ..

The resurgence of some feelings in the past has left me slightly depressed at times. It's like the thing stuck among your teeth and no matter how hard you've tried, you can't seem to get it out.  This lead to sleepless nights, 'Panda eyes' and bad skin complexion for the past week. Howeverrrr, this does not deter my determination to score tomorrow's interview (Wish me luck, yah!! Need plenty of those).

Anyways, to the hell with those bad, negative thoughts!! Am trying my very best to maintain a positive attitude and to prepare for tomorrow's interview.  Hehe .. I'm a bit too relaxed, I guess! Mental note, I will prepare for the interview tomorrow morning, since it's scheduled at 5.30pm.

As for tonight, a bit of chilling out may do me good. Let me see what's on the list - bit of grocery shopping & frozen yogurt (if possible), help frenny, F, hunt for a mini home trampoline,  dinner at Kota Damansara (to try out the steam fish place) and World Cup (England vs. Germany match) at either Overtime or Beer Factory. Hopefully, I'll remember to take some pics this time.  Hehe ..

Happy Friday ...

Initially, the day started out pretty glum as there was some unexpected tax issues to be settled that rainy Friday morning. However, as I was heading towards the Tax Office (which was 5 mins from where I stay), the sun was shining again and I received a call *smiles*  from one of the company's that I submitted my CV to.

Whoopee doo!! Interview is set on Monday, 5.30pm. So excited!!! Hope everything turns out alright! Am trying not to keep my hopes too high but one can't help but be excited about the upcoming interview, right? Btw, the lady on the phone (the allegedly sales manager, which I would be under IF *fingerscrossed* I get the job) seems pretty nice and surprisingly, young.

So, tax issues settled (check!), interview on Mon (check!).. What's next? I proceeded to the 3rd Mile Square located along Old Klang Road to meet up my frenny, R, for a French nail session. Yes! I am her nail model again to practise upon for her upcoming competition in July. And yes! Free nail sessions.

* Crystal UV gel French manicure - Looks more natural, don't you reckon? *

Anyways, it certainly did take a few good hours (3 hours) for this, so for those who are interested to get this done, please be prepared to sit there till your ass is flat!!! Mine took longer because in order to remove the previous design on my 1cm-long Crystal UV gel extension nails, R, had to do a tremendous amount of filing (that's the only way to remove the Crystal UV gel from your nails).

This time, I opted for a more decent length for convenience sake. Did I mention that few days prior to the removal of the 'green, camouflage design', I accidentally poked my right eye with my own nails (clumsy me!!) .. OMG!! I was perpetually petrified for a second because the nails were super long and I felt a scratch on my eyeballs. Thank god! I'm alright AND not blinded by my own carelessness. ;P

The day was pretty full on with dinner at Ecoba (didn't manage to try the food the first time I was there) followed by second rounds at Beer Factory, Giza, Kota Damansara to watch the Portugal vs. Brazil match. Dinner at Ecoba turned out to be dauntingly disappointing, service wise, which indirectly affected my take on the food we ordered.

For starters, the thing that annoyed me was there was perpetually no one at the front to   help us get a table. Waiters were walking past us, ignoring the incoming guests. Which was VERY RUDE, especially in the servicing industry. Secondly, most of the tables were all reserved and the funny thing is ... no one were sitting on the reserved tables except placement cards. Not even for diners. How can you enjoy dinner sitting at the bar? Ridiculous, don't you think? And thirdly, the thing that blew me off was, the waiter had the cheeks to ask us to finish up quickly so that they could give the table up for reservations. WTF???

Anyways, when the second waiter came back with my check and asks us whether we would like another drink, I answered him "  No! Because your other colleague was asking us RUDELY to quickly finish up and leave so that the table could be given up for reservation!!! I would never dine or come here again!!". Not that I expected any apologies from these no-brainers, but I'm sure not to visit that friggin' place ever again in my life!!!  Why should I pay for bad service?? I'm striking this place of my list!! Officially blacklisted!!!!

Food wise, the pasta was merely mediocre in taste and a bit too salty for my liking. I had the pasta avocado and salmon, while my frenny, N, ordered the aglio olio with shrimp. The amount of avocado and salmon was ridiculously stingy to the core (check out the pic below). Presentation wise - 2/10!! Taste - 4/10. Service - ZERO!! Not a mere respect for the customers at all!!

Anyways, highlight of the day? Definitely the phone call for interview !!! ;)
Wish me luck, yo!!

Croc Dundee ..

Check out this Proenza baby ... Proenza Schouler's PS1 Large Crocodile Satchel, priced at $ 14,500 ($ 10,500 after discount) is available at Net-a-Porter.com . OOOoooh... this is just too tempting! Love at first sight, baby!!! Only thing that is keeping us apart is basically 'A JOB' !!!

*sobsob*

Gosh! My wishlist is getting longer by the day ... Job needed A.S.A.P!!!! No calls yet ..*damn* ..

Anyways, Chanel will and still be my first love, choice ..bla!bla!bla! ..

Ok, enough blabbering and back to work (on my project) !!

Toodles!!

P/S: Pray hard that I get a job soon, ya? *fingerstoes&nails crossed*

Today is a good day !!

After a few weeks of hard work, shoulder aches and dramas (trust me! you don't want to go through this!!) etc, I have officially launched the much anticipated webshop of mine, Chaos this afternoon. Hopefully the response will be good!  *fingers crossed*

Career wise, I have applied for a few jobs last week (yes! finally ...), erm ... or should I say, my friends (love them to bits!!!) have helped me submit my cv to their companies for current vacancies available. Waiting for them to call me up for interview anytime soon now ..  Sigh!! Guess it's back to routine work again and goodbye to funployment! *sobsob* Till that happens, I better enjoy the rest of my unemployed and carefree days to the max!!!

*Excuse me for the crooked fingers! Borned that way ;P *

Oh! And before I forget ... Above is the pic of my new crystal UV gel nails with camouflage prints - became my frennie's model for her nail course examination last Friday. Thank god her hard work and efforts (plus, my 3 4 hours of back aching nail session) was not wasted. She passed with flying colors!!

I must admit, the nails do look pretty edgy but it can be a hassle having super long nails. Especially when it comes to lifting heavy stuff, or doing chores, it kinda gets in the way. I guess these type of nails are more appropriate for the rich housewifes (with maids to do everything for them) or superstars. *lol*

Note: The original cost for this crystal UV gel nails to be done is estimated at RM300 (for 10 fingers).

Gonna have them removed on Thurs or Fri maybe, and undergo another nail-modeling session. French manicures this time!! Frennie, R, requested for me to become her model again in July for a competition. Oh well!! No idea how things are gonna be like next month. Hopefully I'll get some calls (interviews) soon. Pray for me, ya?

Pretty nails, see you soon ...

(Source - Unknown)

Frenny R, who is currently undertaking a nail art course have asked me to be her 'model' for her examinations later today. Hopefully she does a good job on my nails. So it's goodbye DIY, chipped nail polish and hellooo to pretty nails!!

*fingers crossed*

Fancy a green beer? ..

Finally, I've made my visit to Craft Brews, one of the latest watering hole in Mutiara Damansara after it's been open publicly early this year.  We were looking for a place to have dinner and also, in conjuction with the World Cup fever, to catch the Argentina vs Nigeria match.

Hunger pangs hit us upon scheming through the menu, and something caught my eye on the signature brew section - Monster Green Lager! Green beer ??? .. Eww!!! That was my first reaction. Two of my brave frennies, F and N decided to give it a try (kudos to them!!). As for me, I decided on the English Ale, which sounds more decent than the green stuff.  Curious to know what the Monster Green Lager looks like?

Here you go ..

* The monster stuff with my English ale in the middle *

To ease our growling tummies, F ordered the Honey Mustard Back Ribs, N had the Chicken Maryland with mash and I decided on the Tex Mex Spicy Back Ribs.

* Honey Mustard Back Ribs *

* Chicken Maryland *

* Tex Mex Spicy Back Ribs *

* Weizen - my second drink *
Reviews:-

(Booze)
  • Monster Green Lager - Not as creepy as it looks like. Tasted like watered down beer (a bit too light for my liking). Taste wise not as interesting as the color though.
  • English Ale - More towards the strong side, tasted a bit like Guiness Stout. Not too bad, maybe more for the guys.
  • Weizen - Amongst all, I prefer this the most! Smooth, rich and easy to drink.
(Food)
  • Honey Mustard back ribs - Nice combination of sauce, well marinated into the ribs. Thumbs up for this!!! The only downside is the amount of meat on the ribs is more on the less side. Nevertheless, at the end of the meal, you'll still be stuffed with the generous amount of potato wedges served.
  • Chicken Maryland - Lean chicken meat served. Good presentation. N gave a thumbs up for this as well. Um.. as for me, apart from the excessive pepper in the mash, all's well.
  • Tex Mex spicy back ribs - Mediocre compared to the other two dishes. The honey mustard ribs tasted better. But I do have to admit that I loved the wedges, which was fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside.
Anyways, it was a good, fun night with the guys (H, my ex-hsmate joined us latter that night) and not forgetting, N. Special thanks to F for treating us dinner and drinks (post belated birthday perks *winks*). Hope you win your next match (he lost bet on the Argentina match. Boo!). Another night filled with food, booze and good company!

Oh! After that, we went for supper and had more food, Indomee at the mamak. Arghh!! No wonder I'm gaining inches on my waist .. >.<

Post birthday - lunch & dinner ...

Met up with some pretty 'ol frennies (Good to see you guys!!!) last Friday for lunch. Venue of choice was at Delicious, 1 Utama. Delicious has always never failed me in terms of food and drinks (they have a good variety on their menu). Out of surprise, they did a mini post birthday celebration for me. Aww.. so sweet of them, right? Sorry! I was too busy catching up and enjoying the food to take any pics. The only ones that I remembered to take was of my salmon dish - Pan seared salmon with asparagus and potatoes. * yummy yummy

It was definitely great catching up with frennies that you haven't seen much for ages. As for dinner, I was at Brussels (again!!) with my ex-boss and colleagues. We watched the first kick-off match for World Cup '10 , South Africa vs Mexico. Pretty boring and lame match. Another night filled with beers does no good to my tummy.

Oh well! Who cares, ey? .. *laughs

Lunch cum tea @ Tom, Dick & Harry's ...

A bit of backdated post again, been quite a moody lazy blogger off late.  Stumbled upon some of my foodie pics (Yeap! I literally take pics of most of my meals.. food porn indulgence!!) taken previously, and came across these taken at Tom, Dick and Harry's. I reckon they do serve the best breakfast ever, though I didn't manage to try any one of the breakky's. But the recommendations and reviews heard so far, has definitely strengthen my will to get up early (eh..hem!!) one of these days (will try!!) and return to this cosy joint for breakfast.

Anyways, I was there for a late lunch cum tea time few weeks ago and had the most scrumptious Shepherds pie (as shown above) ever. And of course, to accompany this on a hot Saturday afternoon, would be a cool glass of beer - Hoegarden!!

The Birthday 10/6/10 ...

Birthday eve was spent chilling at bestie's (W) hs with Moses Rock Ros`e 2009. Bought this at the  Moses Rock winery during my stay in Margaret River. I must say both our alcohol tolerance level has increased tremendously recently. We can easily polish off a bottle of wine per person in one night. Cool!! *grins*

Birthday this year was pretty simple with not much plans made. Woke up to find an angpow (from mum) and 2 red eggs (Chinese tradition for birthdays) sitting on my table. Teehee... Prior years birthdays have mostly been spent in partying at the clubs with massive overload of booze, frennies and thus, I would always be down with massive hangover the next day. Hence, this year I opted for the minimalist way instead of painting the town red. ;P

Had the most scrumptious dinner, consisting of scallops, abalone, prawns and sharks fin soup (Thanks, Mummy & Papa) with the Family.

Hmm.. not very environmental friendly of us, right? As much as I love this dish, I have to admit that I do feel a bit guilty for indulging in this delicacy. ;(

The big fat kitty sleeping under the table the whole time we were having dinner. Check out the humongous tummy!!

The night ended with drinks at Brussels, Jaya One. Initially I was planning to stay in but some frennie's insisted. Had a pint of Stella Artois, 2 Pure Blonde's, met some people and off to bed.  Full, sated and tummy filled with beer.

One year older now .. *sob* or ... on the brighter side, a year wiser !!

;)

Parcel No. 3, where are you? ..

* Image source: www.flickr.com/photos/starrhinig...1353176/ *

Anticipating the arrival of Parcel No. 3, hope it's not lost in the mail....

Can someone hit me with a stick, puhleaseee?

Bugger!!! Since yesterday, I have been having trouble sleeping (@#$%%^*) despite the fact that I am extremely exhausted due to the lack of sleep for the past few days. Arrrrrgggggghhhh ... And to add salt to the wound, my coughing seems to be getting worse and IS as ANNOYING as hell!!!

*Coughing*

Puhhleaaaseeee... gimme a break and allow me to have some rest for once!! Shoo ... cough, please go away!

Btw, my birthday is coming soon in officially 48 hours from now, I am going to be a year older!! Yo, shawty! It's my birthday ... lalalala .. (forgot the rest of the lyrics to this 50 cents song). Hmm.. am having mixed feelings this year. Excited but not so excited .. Yes! I'm one confused 'ol cow!!! Honestly speaking, not much plans for my big day this year actually. We'll see how things go..

Gota go try to get some beauty sleep, which I am severely lacking now (hence, the cranki-ness in me is escalating by the hour).

P/S: Do you think a late night supper will be of any help?? ... Hmmm .... Nahh... gota inflict some self-control towards gluttony indulgence!!! No $$$ for new clothes at the moment!! Current status = POOR COW ... *sobs*

Dinner & drinks ..

Boy!! It certainly feels good to be back in Kl, catching up with ex-colleagues and frennies.  The past two nights here in the City has been pretty full-on - (Friday night) Karaoke hen's night for one of my ex-colleague, who is getting hitched next Sat and (Saturday night) had dinner and drinks with Missy N and a frenny from Vietnam.

Dinner last night was at a place called Happy Days, in USJ Taipan. Food wise was just mediocre. Nothing to shout about but the service was surprisingly quite alright. Price wise, similar to Chilli's and TGI Fridays and honestly, I'd rather go to either one of these big joints. Oh well! Never try, you never know.

Here's some pics of the diner-ish place: -

I had the Seafood Marinara, while frenny had the salmon. The rest (no pics taken) had the steak, and chicken.

After dinner, we proceeded back to Damansara area and N suggested Ecoba. Previously, I've heard and seen numerous post on Facebook about frennie's going to this place.

(Source of pics: http://juiceonline.com/venues/bars/ecoba )

Recently,  PJ has been quite active in the blooming of pubs, clubs and restaurants & bars. In Damansara Perdana itself, there are quite a number of new chill out places recently. Ecoba, is one of the latest participant in PJ's drinking scene.

According to the website, ECO actually stands for E - eat, C - chill, O - oogle. Cool concept, eh? Seems like an environmentally themed bar but it's not. However, the interior does displays a hinge of eco-friendliness, especially the display located right in the centre of the bar. Hoorayy!! A new place to hang out and the best part is ... it's just minutes away from my crib! Woot~

Am definitely looking forward to try out their food next and to hang out at this cool place again. But this time, I'm sitting inside. Because sitting outside was just way too hot for me last night. Oh yeah! Note to all, go early if you can because this place is PACKED!!! Or better yet, make reservations in advance.
