me n my show...

This song reflects me best at this recent phase of my life - The Show, by Lenka (juz luv her)

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don’t know where to go
Can’t do it alone I’ve tried
and I don’t know why

Slow it down make it stop
or else my heart is going to pop
‘cuz it’s too much, yeah it’s a lot
to be something I’m not

I’m a fool out of love
‘Coz I just can’t get enough

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don’t know where to go
I can’t do it alone I’ve tried
And I don’t know why

I am just a little girl lost in the moment
I’m so scared but don’t show it
I can’t figure it out
It’s bringing me down I know
I’ve got to let it go
And just enjoy The Show

The sun is hot in the sky
just like a giant spotlight
The people follow the sign
And synchronize in time
It’s a joke nobody knows
They’ve got a ticket to that show …yeah

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don’t know where to go
Can’t do it alone I’ve tried
and I don’t know why

I am just a little girl lost in the moment
I’m so scared but I don’t show it
I can’t figure it out
it’s bringing me down I know
I’ve got to let it go
And just enjoy the show
oh oh
Just enjoy the show
oh oh

I’m just a little bit caught in the middle
Life is a maze and love is a riddle
I don’t know where to go
Can’t do it alone I’ve tried
And I don’t know why

I am just a little girl lost in the moment
I’m so scared but I don’t show it
I can’t figure it out
It’s bringing me down I know
I’ve got to let it go
And just enjoy the show

Dum de dum dudum de dum
Just enjoy The Show

Dum de dum dudum de dum
Just enjoy The Show

I want my money back (3x)
Just enjoy The Show

I want my money back (3x)
Just enjoy The Show

haha..can I have my money back??

Happy Halloween Day!

jap + movie @ Tropicana City Mall

My first trip ever to Tropicana City Mall, latest shopping mall in PJ, which is located along the Sprint highway, right next to SS2. U definitely won't miss it! Quote from the web "Tropicana City Mall - The new pulse of PJ". Quite true i guess! Previously, i heard the place was still quite new and a bit dead, but from the looks of it just now, i think it's off and running. You would be spoilt by the varieties of dining and retail outlets available here. According to the website, it was opened a few months ago, in the end of Dec '08. Another cool place to hang out with friends and family besides The Curve and 1-Utama for all the PJ-lites *yippee*.

Met up with a colleague of mine for sushi dinner & movie. He suggested Kiku Zakura - located on 1st floor of the mall, right next to the Vietnamese chain, Pho Hoa.

* Interior pics of Kiku Zakura *

You will be greeted by a cascading water wall at the entrance and do remember to look up at the cool bamboo deco above the walkway of the entrance (Forgot to take a pic of it. My bad *Oops*). I'm pretty impressed with the place actually. I remember dining at this place before in Midvalley, the place was smaller but quite similar. This branch in Tropicana City Mall is way much bigger, spacious is the exact word i was looking for. They also have branches in Great Eastern Mall and IOI Mall Puchong.

* The door to a variety of tantalizing and mouth-watering Japanese cuisine *
(BTW, on the bottom left is actually a shadow of my fingers *hehe*)

* Starter sushi (quite tasty) - complimentary for each person *

Initially, we couldn't decide on what to order because EVERYTHING looks so good. Then, we finally decided to order their dinner sets, which was value for money. Colleague ordered a Unagi Rice set, that comes with a miso soup, salad, chawan mushi & fruit (watermelon).

* Unagi (came with rice as well as miso soup) *

* Chawan mushi (came with the set) *

I, on the other hand, ordered a Sushi Udon set, which comprises of udon noodles, 5 pieces of sushi, a salad and fruit (watermelon). We were itching for more so, we ordered another set of Tempura and Sushi (which came with salad, miso soup and fruit as well) to share. Tsk! Tsk! What? We couldn't resist the temptations though we did regretted it later on because we were basically quite full when we finished our own sets. Hehe! But we did tried our best to finish off everything. Couldn't waste good food, right?

* Salad *

* Sushi *

* Udon noodles *

* Tempura *

Finished in time for a puff of ciggie and some green tea to ease digestion after stuffing ourselves to the brim and off we were to catch the 9.20 pm show of The Traveller's Wife at GSC, located on the same floor. I would give it a 4/5 for it's food, ambience and service. Next visit, I would like to try out the Kimchi Korean Restaurant, located not far from Kiku Zakura.

* My outfit (Pls excuse my surprise look in the pic! Not very camera-friendly today >.<)*

* Navy blue cardigan (bought from Taiwan - RM25, a definite STEAL) & grey sequined top (Armani Exchange) paired with black Lizzy jeans (Mango) *

* My new black, suede, Mary-Jane pumps from Dorothy Perkins (comfy) *

Have chosen a casual look since we're going for a movie after dinner. Thrown on the cardigan to protect me from the harsh air-conditions of the mall. I didn't have much clue on what we were going to watch initially so my colleague gave me some jist of it along the way to the cinema.

According to him, the story came from a best-seller novel ' The Traveller's wife' and prior to some research from the Internet just now, quoted from Wikipedia 'The Time Traveler's Wife, published in 2003, is the debut novel of American author Audrey Niffenegger. It is a love story about a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about his wife, an artist, who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences.'.

A heart-warming and touching story that brings you near to tears, especially during the ending. I was on the verge of crying but luckily i managed to control myself. Wouldn't be caught dead crying in public, can I? *LOL* A definite MUST-WATCH. It seems that reading the novel is much better than the movie. Well, movie is good enough for me however, as an avid reader, i can't wait till i get my hands on the novel. This is just the type of movie that leaves you thinking, 'What if it were to happen to you? Would you have done the same?' Waiting for someone you love is painful. I can relate to that. Will my ending be the same? ...

Korean day

Woke up with a knack for Korean food. Hehe! Me and my cravings! Oh well! Since I had to return something that i loaned from my doc's @ Ampang Puteri Hospital, I decided to head to my favorite dodgy Korean restaurant at the Korean Village not far from the hospital for lunch.

* My outfit for today - Navy blue sleeveless blouse (Zara), flowery skirt (latest haulage from Forever 21), black belt (from Taiwan - RM20 only) and my beloved red Aldo work-bag (bought it for RM100 during one of their sales. what a steal, huh?) *

Restaurant Korea is the name of the place. Basically, I've been to this place a couple of times previously. It looks a bit dodgy on the inside but I just love their friendly service and reasonable pricing for the food. Plus, I get to sit in my own secluded booth.

Super hungry today! So, I ordered a Korean Bim Bim Bap (rice with mixed vege on a hotstone bowl) and a Kimchi and Pork Belly soup. I tend to order these 2 dishes each time I visit this place.

* I'm a Coke gal *

* Bim Bim Bap *

* This is what it looks like after you mix it with the sauce *

* Kimchi and pork belly soup *

* Side dishes plus complimentary bowl of Korean style dried vege soup *

* Weirdo side dishes - pickled turnip (tastes quite alright. slightly salty); pickled ginger (err...didn't dare to try. Am definitely not a big fan of ginger!) *

Looks good doesn't it? Oh! Did I mention that I ate all the above alone? HaHa! A hearty meal for me.. *pat on my big tummy+evil smile* Total bill - RM33 only. Paid Lotte Mart a visit after lunch, couldn't resist leaving the place without getting some korean snacks and beverages, right?

* My haulage from the mart *

BTW, the cashier spoke to me in Korean language when I paid for my stuff. I was a bit blur, after a heavy lunch. Then the owner of the mart, friendly guy I would say, spoke to me. He asked whether I was Korean. I said no. He thought I was and he said the stuff I bought are popular Korean snacks. Hmmm...weird! But it's not the first time I've experienced this. Last Friday, was at Library for a drink with some people, a guy from the next table approached me and asked whether I was Korean. First thought that came into mind was he's shitting me. A stupid, lame trick to talk to me and get my number. Whatever, rite!!! And I forgot to mention, he's not good looking at all and a bit on the aging side. A definite no no!! Yucks!!!

But seriously, do I look Korean? I don't think so... =P

* Kam sa mida??? (I look weird in this pic, huh?)*

Dim Sum brunch

Upon coming across a brief food review on Saturday Metro, I suggested that we try out the dim sum offerings at Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant in One World Hotel Petaling Jaya since bestie was in town with her mama and aunt for furniture shopping @ Ikea. Picked them up from Taman Bahagia, lrt station and headed straight to One World Hotel, which was basically located next to 1-Utama shopping mall (old wing) and you will definitely not miss it if you're on the LDP expressway.

* Interior of the restaurant *

I remember from the review, it was available from 11 am to 2.30. We reached around 11.30 am, but 'lil did I know that it was applicable only for Saturdays and Sundays. On weekdays, they start operating at 12 pm. Oops! My bad! We were in no hurry AND since we were a tad too early so, we walk around for half an hour around the mall.

There was a selection of steamed and fried dim sum from the Emperor or Empress set menu, where you can enjoy unlimited orders from the dim sum selection, Hong Kong-style chee cheong fun and desserts with one serving of Water Prawn Noodle (Sang Har Mee) and a bowl of Shark's fin soup at an all inclusive price of RM40++ per person (RM48++ during weekends).

Here are the pics of our dim sum galore:-
(One time orders only)

* The choices of soup from the Emperor & Empress set - Sharks fin soup (top) or Scallop, sharks fin, seafood dumpling soup (bottom) *

* White fungus dessert *

* Aloe vera with a pinch of lemongrass *

* Water prawn noodle *

These are the unlimited orders of dimsums, fried stuff etc:-

* Steamed minced squid ball wit dried octopus ad crab stick *

* Zuan Yuan style steamed siew mai with flying fish roe *

* Prawn dumpling *

* Another type of dim sum (too many names to remember) *

* Steamed sharks fin dumpling *

* Steamed scallop dumpling *

* Fried radish cake *

* Taro dumpling wu kok style with scallop and miso sauce/ pan fried shanghai dumpling *

* Fried beancurd skin / fried custard prawn *

* Hongkong-style chee cheong fun with scallops *

* Oven baked mini egg tarts *

I would say it would be good to go in groups of four like we did, to be able to try out most of the choices available. Overall, i would give it a 3/5. Food was mediocre, but i dislike their service though. A bit too slow to my liking for hotel service. However, i do give credits to the chef for the generous amounts of scallops and sharks fin even though the taste wasn't that fantastic.

For rm40++, the price is quite reasonable for sharks fin, scallops and dim sum. I guess i had higher expectations of the place only to be disappointed this time by the service. This is my second time dining at Zuan Yuan, the first was for an annual company meeting early of the year in Jan. It was way much better then. Oh well! At least we've given it a try and basically, it's the company that counts afterall.

P/S:- Kura Japanese Restaurant is so much better than Zuan Yuan. *wink*

Grrrr...

Grrrrrr.... I hate nosy ppl...Why can't u freaking stay out of ppl's business n shut ur farking mouths...@%@%^#$ ... What a major pain the ass...

Bitch (telling mom) : Who was that ... i saw that day ...? Your new ... ar? (with that irritating and annoying voice of hers!!!)

Hehe... Nothing freaky happened by the way! Title came in mind in conjunction with the Halloween displays at Ground Floor (New Wing) of the mall. *LOL* Here are some pics for your pleasant viewing:-

Not bad eh? Didn't even know that Halloween is just around the corner. Anyways, had another ice-cream craving AGAIN when i saw the gelato fruity booth. Check this out : Dairy 95% fat free, Fruit 99% fat free. So, this time it's a healthier indulgence *pat on my shoulder* ... good choice, ey? *winks*

* Dairy 95% fat free *

* Fruit 99% fat free *

* My flavor for the day - Cookies (mmmMMMmm) - RM6.80 only *

Strongly recommended to the ladies out there! Plenty of flavors to choose from and you certainly won't be haunted by guilt because of your indulgence this time =P

P/S:- Do wish they have Ben & Jerry's here. Love their ice-cream too... oooOoo, speaking of ice-cream, it's been ages since I've been to Swensen's for their Earthquake.. @_@ ...and Movenpick crossed my mind too.. Oh no! What's wrong with this recent ice-cream infatuation of mine???.. *chuckles*
