Eye candy ...

Happened to LIKE Burberry's Facebook Page a few moons back and I must say, the Burberry Prorsum S/S12 Womenswear collection is definitely electric. There was a moment where I had an instant urge to rush to the stores after looking at the photos on Facebook however, the saner side of me reminded myself that it requires loads of MULA $$$$ ... *coughs* ...Reminder to thyself, budget constraint! Sooooo, instead of succumbing into a crazy shopping frenzy (not that  I could afford it at the moment), I decided to enjoy the vibrant colours of the fabulous, amazing collection from the vicinity of my Macbook instead. *sobs*

Kudos to technology because it is not necessary for you to be some hot shot fashionista/stylist/magazine editor bla.bla.bla sitting at the front row during Fashion Week in order to get a peep at the latest look in season. Thank goodness for the presence of cyberworld and social networking.

Fashion is the just perfect antidote after a tiring day (spent the whole noon driving to another state for monthly business calls). Lifts the soul! Before I end my ramblings for the day, this amazing, uber cool pair of wedges from the S/S 12 Womenswear collection has caught my attention.

If only ... $$$$ grew on trees !! If only .... I could get my hands on them. I would definitely be the coolest girl in town .. Nahh!! Silly habit of mine - daydreaming again!

If only .... *ZZZZZzzzzzz*

Share you in on a secret. Actually, I drove all the way to 1 Utama just to check out the ALDO sales ;P).

It sure was a definite steal - Original price: rm590; 50% disc + additional 10% disc for OneCard members, hence, I paid rm253 ONLY!!! Finally, I've got my hands on them!!

* Do check out the ALDO sales at Bargain Centre, 1 Utama (19th feb - 28th feb '10). Btw, the ALDO retail outlet is also having sales on selected items (up to 70% disc).

Hmm...I reckon ALDO should hire me as their spokesperson for being such a huge, avid supporter. What do ya think? *laughs*

curry + champers

Since it's been pouring the whole day, I've decided to do a bit of cooking.. something to keep me warm - Curry chicken! Bought some chicken breasts from the mart few days ago + Brahma's meat curry paste, some potatoes & carrots plus, some added seasonings (dried chillies, special curry paste & lemongrass)..and the result is...

* Ta daa!! *

After dinner, was itching for some champers..my favorite Tantinel Prosecco.

* Hmmm...can I finish the whole bottle of bubbly all by myself? *

Am proud of thy self for completing my Oct expense claims just now *pat on shoulder* after much procrastination the whole day.

Btw, Jimmy Choo for H&M was finally out few days ago, 14th November 2009.. Hopefully my gal frenny in London can manage to brave thru the super duper long queue and get my very first pair of Choo's. I had my eyes on a lovely pair of heels in metallic blue and the zebra striped clutch. Howeverr..due to financial constraints, I had to choose either one which she can get her hands on. High hopes on the heels though. Girly, all hopes on ya *fingers crossed* .. Me *heart* the Choos!!

So, we hestitantly switched to Quattro ( located at Avenue K, opp. KLCC)..

Awww...I still wana go to Rootz... Oh well, I guess it's the company that counts. It was freaking packed and crowded too at Quattro..dif. range of crowd compared to Rootz.. jap + movie @ Tropicana City Mall

My first trip ever to Tropicana City Mall, latest shopping mall in PJ, which is located along the Sprint highway, right next to SS2. U definitely won't miss it! Quote from the web "Tropicana City Mall - The new pulse of PJ". Quite true i guess! Previously, i heard the place was still quite new and a bit dead, but from the looks of it just now, i think it's off and running. You would be spoilt by the varieties of dining and retail outlets available here. According to the website, it was opened a few months ago, in the end of Dec '08. Another cool place to hang out with friends and family besides The Curve and 1-Utama for all the PJ-lites *yippee*.

Met up with a colleague of mine for sushi dinner & movie. He suggested Kiku Zakura - located on 1st floor of the mall, right next to the Vietnamese chain, Pho Hoa.

* Interior pics of Kiku Zakura *

You will be greeted by a cascading water wall at the entrance and do remember to look up at the cool bamboo deco above the walkway of the entrance (Forgot to take a pic of it. My bad *Oops*). I'm pretty impressed with the place actually. I remember dining at this place before in Midvalley, the place was smaller but quite similar. This branch in Tropicana City Mall is way much bigger, spacious is the exact word i was looking for. They also have branches in Great Eastern Mall and IOI Mall Puchong.

* The door to a variety of tantalizing and mouth-watering Japanese cuisine *
(BTW, on the bottom left is actually a shadow of my fingers *hehe*)

* Starter sushi (quite tasty) - complimentary for each person *

Initially, we couldn't decide on what to order because EVERYTHING looks so good. Then, we finally decided to order their dinner sets, which was value for money. Colleague ordered a Unagi Rice set, that comes with a miso soup, salad, chawan mushi & fruit (watermelon).

* Unagi (came with rice as well as miso soup) *

* Chawan mushi (came with the set) *

I, on the other hand, ordered a Sushi Udon set, which comprises of udon noodles, 5 pieces of sushi, a salad and fruit (watermelon). We were itching for more so, we ordered another set of Tempura and Sushi (which came with salad, miso soup and fruit as well) to share. Tsk! Tsk! What? We couldn't resist the temptations though we did regretted it later on because we were basically quite full when we finished our own sets. Hehe! But we did tried our best to finish off everything. Couldn't waste good food, right?

* Salad *

* Sushi *

* Udon noodles *

* Tempura *

Finished in time for a puff of ciggie and some green tea to ease digestion after stuffing ourselves to the brim and off we were to catch the 9.20 pm show of The Traveller's Wife at GSC, located on the same floor. I would give it a 4/5 for it's food, ambience and service. Next visit, I would like to try out the Kimchi Korean Restaurant, located not far from Kiku Zakura.

* My outfit (Pls excuse my surprise look in the pic! Not very camera-friendly today >.<)*

* Navy blue cardigan (bought from Taiwan - RM25, a definite STEAL) & grey sequined top (Armani Exchange) paired with black Lizzy jeans (Mango) *

* My new black, suede, Mary-Jane pumps from Dorothy Perkins (comfy) *

Have chosen a casual look since we're going for a movie after dinner. Thrown on the cardigan to protect me from the harsh air-conditions of the mall. I didn't have much clue on what we were going to watch initially so my colleague gave me some jist of it along the way to the cinema.

According to him, the story came from a best-seller novel ' The Traveller's wife' and prior to some research from the Internet just now, quoted from Wikipedia 'The Time Traveler's Wife, published in 2003, is the debut novel of American author Audrey Niffenegger. It is a love story about a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and about his wife, an artist, who has to cope with his frequent absences and dangerous experiences.'.

A heart-warming and touching story that brings you near to tears, especially during the ending. I was on the verge of crying but luckily i managed to control myself. Wouldn't be caught dead crying in public, can I? *LOL* A definite MUST-WATCH. It seems that reading the novel is much better than the movie. Well, movie is good enough for me however, as an avid reader, i can't wait till i get my hands on the novel. This is just the type of movie that leaves you thinking, 'What if it were to happen to you? Would you have done the same?' Waiting for someone you love is painful. I can relate to that. Will my ending be the same? ...

Launching of Franziskerner at Bavarian Bierhaus, The Curve.

Backdated post from thursday, Miss A, college bestie invited me to join her for the launching of Franziskerner at Bavarian Bierhaus, The Curve (located behind TGIF). Free flow of beer, Franziskerner (of course!!) & a buffet spread of German food were served from 6+pm till 9pm to the invited guests and media. There was a brief beer drinking competition, where participants had to compete to finish a 500ml glass of Franziskerner. Overall, i would say a successful event, though i only know a mere few people there, bestie's colleagues and luckily a friend of mine came as well. Food was great but i personally feel that the waiter and waitresses were a bit slow in service though. There's always room for improvement, i guess. Didn't take much pics though but the breath of fresh air did do me some good after staying at home the whole day.

My outfit (Project Recycle) for the day with minimum make-up (Aiks! That's very rare of me to go out without my trademark-smoky eyes, huh? Oh well! Something different, right?) :-

* Fuchsia, sleeveless top (Armani Exchange), miniskirt (MNG), wooden bangle (gift from friend), earrings (Forever 21) - paired with Balenciaga Giant City, not in pic! *
Note: I bought the mini back in Monash, erm, 5 or 6 years ago, still looks new *LOL* & luckily, it still fits, meaning i haven't gain much weight all these years. Good o bad? Hmm!

* My gladiators (bought from recent trip to Taiwan) - something to spice up the outfit *

Project Recycle - part 1

After bumming at home the whole day, went out last night to join a few friend's at Deutches Gasthaus's Anniversary cum Oct-fest celebration. Was suppose to meet Mum yesterday morning but she canceled her plans last minute. Well, guess i needed the bit of fresh air coz i've been feeling lethargic the whole freaking day. Not a good feeling. Must be all the medications for my sorethroat and cough. Geez..
"Though not in the mood, but thou must dress up for every occasion =P "
Rummaged through my wardrobe the other day and found a pair of shorts that i bought, erm, i think 2 years back *aiks* from MNG. Paired it with a silk camisole, also from MNG and a cropped knitted vest from Jaspal (after 70% disc. - rm 39. What a steal, huh? I was so excited i didn't even tried it on, until i got home. Bad habit. Tsk!Tsk!).

* My outfit for the night *

* My latest splurge - Balenciaga Giant City *

* Aldo - Fromarn flats (bought these at 50% disc, another steal!) *

The menu for the night was slightly different from normal in conjunction with Oct-fest celebration but we decided to stick to the basics - german sausages, a caesar salad and beer. The waiter suggested that we order Franziskerner. Seems that it's a 'must have' for Oct-fest. Hmm..

* Damansara Perdana branch *

* Oct-fest special - 7 glass Franziskerner *

* Caesar salad *

* German sausage platter *

* The place - outside *

* Inside *

Overall, it was quite alright except for the hot, humid weather. There were a series of log sawing competition and the winner walked off with rm50 voucher. Hmmm..doesn't seem enticing enough, huh? .. After 2 glasses of Franziskerner followed by 2 pints of Hoegarden, we called it a night and went home. Gosh! The weather is so unbearable recently. Extremely hot and stuffy.. *Grrrrr*...

Hmm...gota think of what to wear later. Meeting up with a gal friend for tea at Sunway Pyramid. Weather is so hotttttt...Damnnn!!!

Acute Laryngitis

Hola! Guess what? Basically, the loss of voice was due to a condition diagnosed by the doctor as Acute Laryngitis (inflammation of my voice-box in lament terms). Mr Doc said ' Switch off your mobile, you need more rest, DON'T TALK and take lots of liquid'. So, i am officially on medical leave for 2 days ..

These are the medications prescribed by 'The professional':-

* Dhasolone - relief of throat itchiness*

* Sedilix-DM - cough mixture*

* Augmentin (antibiotics -crucial!!) *

I guess the hectic & stressful weeks of September has taken a toll on me =( . What a way to welcome October - voice-less *Pfftttt* . Btw, Aldo is having a warehouse sales, which started on the 30th of Sep - 4th of Oct at 1-Utama (1st floor Rainforest, Bargain Centre). Discounts were up to 70% and the temptation was just too crazy to resist..i had to check it out, rite??? Who can say no to a good bargain?? *evil smile*

Yes! Yes! I know i am banned from shopping, BUTTTTTTT... It's a warehouse sales!!! & It's ALDO...Hellooo!!! Afterall, i did manage to hit my target (*partially*) and manage to get some $$$... Somehow or rather i ended up in 1-Utama, voice-less and checking out the varieties of shoes on sales..Gosh! Just couldn't take my eyes off them, the sight of FABULOUS shoes just lights me up instantly. I know Jimmy Choo's & Manolo Blahnik's are to die for but sadly, i can't afford those at this point of time. So, i'll just have to forget 'bout the Manolo's & the Choo's. Aldo would just have to do the job currently.

Shopping ban, TOTALLY forgotten then instant second i stepped into the bargain centre. I've had a VERY stressful month, and i decided to reward myself. Evil, huh? I don't care!!! I just went berserk.. The boots on the racks were just fierce and discounts were from 50-70%..I would've snapped them up if it weren't for the fact that Malaysia's weather is not exactly suitable to wear those beautiful suede and leather boots (NOT FAIR!!!!).

I tried on a couple of shoes but they were either a size too small or few sizes too big. Was on the verge of despair when the helpful retail assistant found some stilettos with my size, 37 *muackss*

Initial choice on my mind would be flats, more practical for work and also for leisure. A pair of silver flats caught my attention but too bad they were of size 36, a tad too small. Saw another pointed toe flats in plain black but they were 2 sizes bigger. Frustrating, huh? Next on my mind would be open-toed stilettos, but those available were just plain blahh...

Thus, i figure i'll just stick to whatever that catches my eye. I can't walk away empty handed, can i? THENNN... I saw the coolest pair of stiletto EVER..The design looks like something from Ungaro, only on a shoe. Some may like it, some may not but i don't really care. It's just so my style. Price - RM126 (after 70% discount) Ain't that a catch!!

* Gessica *

Next, a pair of leopard print pointed toe stiletto caught my eye. Sexy!! It matches my new Balenciaga bag. Another version of the leopard print was open toed with a cute buckle, tried it on but it was not very comfortable. The most important criteria (besides the design & outlook) is comfort !! Hence, i decided on the pointed toe version - RM186 (after 50% discount). I could go on and on but one has to have some self-control, rite? So i limit myself to getting 2 pairs only this time..*haha* Can barely wait till their next sales.. Besides, they throw a sales like in every 3 months at the end of the season. Hopefully by then my shopping ban is over (*fingers crossed!!*).

* Ariane *

* Upclose shot *

OMG! I'm constantly coughing, sneezing and wheezing. Aiks! Flu on the way. Guess i better chug down some cough mixture to cease the cough and pop the rest of the antibiotics and medications given. And rest!! REst! Rest! Rest! Woohoo! Friday tomorrow! Must regain my voice, i want to go out!!!!

Stupid me!

Hmm...
For starters, i burnt a huge hole on one of my favorite work-shirts while i was ironing it this morning (*yikes*). Stupid me! I forgot to check the heat mode on the iron before i placed it on my shirt. The instant moment when i placed the iron on my shirt, i knew that the heat was wrong..Pfffftttt..and there it was..a hhHUGE HOLE right in the middle & burnt smell !! All thanks to my own ignorance and stupidity =( !!!

Note: - NEVER, EVER use heat mode for cotton on polyester & ALWIZ, ALWIZ, check your heat mode before ironing!!!!

* Front view

* Back view

* Upclose (hhhuugee hole)

So, there you go..some evidence of my own stupidity!

Oh well, damage done. Fav shirt in the bin now (*sob*). Hence, seeked for an alternative work-shirt, silk this time (no more ironing involved =P) to match with my outfit for today.

* White, silk shirt (Esprit collection)
Wrap skirt (Armani Exchange)
Silk scarf turned into belt (bought during one of my China trips)

* Red bag & Hortense Mary-Janes (ALDO)

* Accessories :-
Pearl bracelet (Mum's)
Pearl earrings (bought during one of my China trips)

* Butterfly ring (Perlini's Silver)

Btw, on my way to work, i saw a huge (ok! exaggerating a tad bit) monitor lizard on the road, right in the middle of fast-moving traffic. Questions:- How did it get stuck in the middle of the road?? And where did it come from? Hmm.. probably Mr. Lizard's day out to the big city.. *hehe* .. Well, had goosebumps initially. Am deeply horrified and scared of any reptiles in general, big or small. On my way back, i passed by the same road again..and i thought, Mr. Lizard must be traumatized by the fast-moving traffic and couldn't crossed the road. Poor thing!

Highlights of the day would be the squabble at Dr Ting's clinic (famous dermatologist, @jln. imbi). There i was, casually waiting as usual to see the doc when all of a sudden, i realized the lady at the counter was talking REAL loud and was REALLY pissed off. Apparently, she has been told to come around 2pm and there was only 3 other patients ahead of her. So, she waited and waited and it was still not her turn yet. And i guess the tone of the other person was not really appropriate so that made the situation worse. Hence, the drama. In the end, the patient left without getting any treatment coz she couldn't stand waiting any longer.

Next, a couple who was sitting next to me approached the nurse at the counter and initiated another drama. Tsk! Tsk! Everyone and anyone that goes to Dr Ting knows that the queue is very long and waiting is required. Yeah, i understand sometimes as a patient, it can be very unbearable but, what can you do? It's a well-known fact in this clinic. They don't take appointments or bookings. You have to queue up according to your number, that is if you manage to get any (you have to go really early if you're adamant about getting treatment there, serious!!).

Anyways, both hubby & wifey of Squabble No. 2, was pissed off (yeah! My personal opinion would be: - 1. Over-reacting. 2. Trying to take advantage of the previous squabble to see whether they can cut the long queue.) and hubby started shouting profanities at the nurses behind the counter, while wifey was scolding at the back. C.R.A.Z.Y!! Conclusion, wifey continued to wait for their turn after all that unnecessary drama, and hubby took the kids to have lunch. Hmm... these people can officially be nominated for an Oscar award (*LOL*).. Well hello, drama queens & kings!!
