A season of celebrations ...

I celebrate my 200th 199th post with a toast to the celebrative season to the recent Birthday babies (of Oct, Nov and Dec) and since Christmas and New Year is just around the corner. The past few months has just been hectic with weekends after weekends of birthday celebrations, dinners and as usual, work! Hence, the absence from the blogging sphere!

Anyways, last weekend was spent at Hajime, an authentic Japanese restaurant and by far, one of best Japanese restaurants in town in conjunction of M's birthday (an old fren of mine).

It was certainly worth the visit, food was fantastic and the highlight of the night would definitely be the Fugu (pufferfish) sashimi - a seasonal dish. Thanks to the waiter's recommendation since it was Fugu season currently, it was certainly all nods for the Fugu sashimi.

Fugu can be lethally poisonous due to its tetrodotoxin, therefore has to be carefully prepared to remove toxic parts and to avoid contaminating the meat.[1] The restaurant preparation of fugu is strictly controlled by the law in Japan and several other countries, and only chefs who have qualified through rigorous training are allowed to deal with the fish.[1][2] However, the domestic preparation occasionally leads to accidental death.[2] Fugu is served as sashimi andchirinabe.[2] Some consider the liver the tastiest part but it is also the most poisonous, and serving the fugu liver in restaurants was banned in Japan in 1984.Fugu has become one of the most celebrated and notorious dishes in Japanese cuisine

* The exotic dish*

A dish or shall I say, an experience of a lifetime that one must try at least once despite the damage to the pocket. It has the soft chewy texture to it and the stuffs in the centre (centre of the pic) was jelly-like. Everyone was still alive at the end of the meal, so kudos to the chef for the good preparation skills.

Excuse me for the absence of food porn! My camera needs to be admitted to Sony hospital but it's been months and I still have not found the time to do so. Boo!!! I guess it's time for a new camera .. *lol* .. have my eyes on the Canon S90 or the G12.

Btw, there was a surprise awaiting this morning at the workplace. Guess what? Christmas pressies from the Company - Crabtree and Evelyn's La Source set and Jusco vouchers worth RM90 for everyone. Hooray~

The eyes are giving up on me now.. Time to crash. Nite to all .. ZZZzzzzzz

Brief stop @ Guardians

Ran out of cleanser today so I made my way to Guardian pharmacy for my Hada Lobo (only available at Guardian). It was a brief pit stop and much to my delight, the Hada Lobo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Face Wash was on promotion - 25.88 (original price : RM31+). Not bad, eh?

Saved some from the promotion on the cleanser but spent it on a face mask! Haha... I guess it's worth it, anything in attempt to keep the complexion flawless. This (Garnier's Lightening Peel-off Mask) caught my eye and it was only for RM4.88, pretty cheap, huh? There's actually 2 doses for 2 applications (duh!!! ;P) but I reckon with the amount provided, it's actually sufficient for 4 applications.

It's pretty cooling upon application and takes like 5-10 minutes or so for the masks to completely be dried and peeled off (after 15 mins of application). After effect - smooth skin texture. Lightening wise - slightly but I guess it takes a few more applications to see the results. Not too bad, and I do love the citrusy smell of it.

A day at The Pyramids..

Met up with a gal friend at Sunway Pyramid just now. Totally didn't expect the traffic to be heavy at 4pm. Maybe it was due to the heavy rain. Whoa! I only wished for a 'lil rain coz the weather was just too hot to my liking but NOT a heavy downpour. Oh well! Some rain will do us good anyways. Was in the mood for sushi. Thus, we decided to have a light meal at Tokyo-G. Sushi with a twist =)

* Cool interior *

* The menu (I kinda like the woven design of the menu) *

* Mojito (Had a sudden crave for cocktails) *

* Ever delicious Godzilla roll (Tempura prawns in the middle, covered with tuna and mango on the outside) *

* Smoked salmon roll with sweet teriyaki sauce *

* Edamame (bit soggy, think they over-steamed it. Hmphh!) *

* Me - Filled to the brim. Sated!!! =) *

After filling our tummy's, we decided to head to Forever 21. Yea, i know shopping ban but just couldn't resist the urge to get something. So, i limit my spending to rm30 and decided to get some accessories instead of clothes. Yes! I still am keen on Project Recycle. Besides, accessories come in handy to spice up any old outfits. Right?? Hehe.. Got myself a pair of earrings and some hair-clips.

Aldo was just opposite and without thinking, i was strolling along the lovely shoes all calling out for me to put them on my feet and bring them home. God! This was more difficult than i ever thought. My friend had to practically drag me out of the store. Thank goodness! Next, passed by NafNaf and the Mid-season sales sign caught my eye. Nothing much to see though and I, personally don't really fancy the clothes there. Lucky for me! *phew*

Basically, my main objective at the mall was to check out Tanamera's home spa products @ Parkson. Along the way, we detoured again into MNG. Saw some shorts, selling for rm79. Price - reasonable, Length & Cutting - like it, Material - Cotton, Color - Khaki, Maroon, Green. So, i might just get the one in khaki later.

Back to Tanamera, they have a whole range of body scrubs, massage oils, essential oils, hair care, bath range and mini home spa series. I read about it in Cleo magazine Sep issue i think. Checked it out on their website (www.tanamera.com.my) last night. I almost went nuts there. Gosh! Just so much to choose from. Got a body scrub, a face mist (tried it & am loving it), some essential oils and a herbal face compress. Here are the pics of my loot:-
* My mini home spa *

* Peppermint & Ylang Ylang essential oils *

* Aqueous Facial Mist & Tropical Lulur Scrub *

* Herbal Face Compress *

Next, dessert time. Yippee!!! My friend brought me to Ice Monster, a taiwanese dessert stall located at the intersection between old and new wing, same level as A&W, Ajisen etc.

* Mix Fruit ice (mixture of kiwi, strawberries, mango fruit with mango ice-cream topping) *

* Me & my fav dessert *

What a day! Strolling around the mall and tummy filled with fav jap. sushi & taiwanese ice dessert, I can say i'm sated for the day. *LOL*

Oh! Btw, here's a pic of my outfit for the day (Top: Ted Baker; Pants - Candy-striped capri from MNG & Balenciaga Giant City, matched with my Zara ballet pumps, not in pic) :-
* My outfit for the day *

Ended the day with a session of pool at Bravo sports bar @Plaza Damas, newly opened by my friend's bf. In the midst of pool, received a call from colleague to join him at The Library but was just too tired for a second round. Oh well, will be meeting him for happy hour tomorrow anyways. Tired and still feeling a bit lethargic *eeks* ..Bedtime! zzZZZzzzz ~ >.<

Pinchoz - Shirley & Rudy's birthday (290809)

Another event attended during the Merdeka weekend - Shirley & Rudy's (of Pinchoz@Changkat Bukit Bintang) birthday celebration. Location - Next to Le Bouchon. A whole night of good food (tapas, of course. It's a tapa's bar!!) great wine & most importantly, great company!

* Initial choices of outfit:
(Left) black LBD MNG & maroon shawl turned into belt - Zara;
(Right) sleeveless, cropped top - Jaspal, purple chamisole & tweed, cropped pants - both from MNG

* Outfit for the night (finally decided! *phew*)
sheer blue, polka dot top (Zara)
black shorts (MNG)
bronze beaded necklace
black bangle (H & M)
monogram mini lin canvas speedy (Louis Vuitton)
matched with Daviana heels (ALDO - not in pic).

Btw, I tried out my new Victoria Secret Very Voluptuous Mascara in Very Black. Bad news is, it's not available in Malaysia (bought it during one of my shopping spree @ Changi Airport during one of my biz trips 2 months ago). I would rate it a 3.5-4 out of 5. It really adds extreme volume to the lashes and application wise - very soft & smooth flowing. Price - $30 (Singaporean Dollar).

* The product

Well, since a picture speaks a thousand words. Here are some snippets of the eventful night:-

* Some of the tapas served..(*hungry*)

* Early cam-whoring while waiting for the rest to arrive.

* Some of the wines (pressie from us to birthday couple) - Pinot Grigio (Australian)

Between the two, i prefer Billi Billi Pinot Grigio more, though some prefer the top one (pic) - McGuigan 2008 Pinot Grigio.

More pics:-

* Cakey & birthday song time - "Happy Birthday to uuu...!!"
Note: Birthday cake (choc w almonds in between the layers) was super delicious & was baked by the wonderful chef himself (if i rmbr it correctly *grins*). Gosh, i'm practically salivating at the thought of it.

* Picture time w the Birthday gal & more cam-whoring (*yeay*)
(Btw, check out the lady in blue *oohlala*)

*cheers*
Note: Champagne (Ferarri) - half the price of Moet, taste better. I, personally prefer this over Moet.

Oh, check this out. A ritual for birthday babies@ Pinchoz - 3L Hoegarden draft..

* Me posing with the Gigantic Hoegarden =)

After a few drinks (reds, whites, champers, corona), everyone succumbed to further cam-whoring *LOL*..

What a night!!! *phew* ..
