* Isn't it purdy?? *

Chilling with the Couzie - Day 2

Day 2 - Changkat & Sg. Wang

Our day started late as Couzie had a hair cut and I went for the pre-employment medical check-up. So by the time we reached downtown, it was almost 4+. Us being us, cocktails were desperately needed after a long, hot afternoon. We headed to TwentyOne @ Changkat (one of my fav's place in Changkat) for a drinky or...two before we began the spree in Sg. Wang.

* Mojitos and Special Calamari with Ginger Dipping *

* It was Happy Hour and it was Buy 1 Free 1 (whoopee!!!), so we had another round of Cosmos before heading to Sg. Wang .. check out Couzie's new haircut!! *

Sg. Wang has always been too chaotic for my liking, however, much to my surprise, I did find some good buys. As for the Couzie, he literally went mad there and couldn't pull the plug. Everything was a steal and such a bargain for him. Haha ... He was practically beaming and vowed to go back for more as we finally made an exit from the mall. We decided to have dinner at Yoko's (@ Changkat Bukit Bintang) and I desperately needed to take a leak. Plus, we couldn't decide on which restaurant so we took a random pick.

* Dragon Maki roll (super huge) & surprisingly, delicious!! *

* Okonomiyaki *

* Takoyaki ( a huge disappointment compared to the other 2 amazing dishes) *

For a random pick, Yoko's turned out to be pretty alright. However, 2 consecutive days of cocktails and shopping has definitely left us exhausted. After a gin and tonic each, we headed to Subang, had to drop off Couzie. They (other Couzie and her frenz) were heading for Perhentian that night. I literally knocked off when I reached my pad. It was barely 11pm. Haha .. Who knew shopping and chilling could be this exhausting? ..

Chilling with the Couzie - Day 1

The precious Couzie has arrived from Melbourne!!!

Day 1 - MidValley and Gardens:

(Morning - Ehem! It's actually brunch @ Fah Kee, Seremban ;P )

* Fishball noodle soup (kuey teow) @ Seremban *

We were literally starving by the time we left the house, so we did a pit-stop to this oldie for a bowl of noodle soup before heading to KL!

( Noon @ MidValley )

* A drinky @ delicious before we began our shopping spree *

* Cocktails, of course!! Caprioska for Couzie plus shoestring fries with aeoli (aeoli was a major disappointment!!) *

* Thailicious for me (pretty refreshing but bit stingy on the vodka though ;P) *

* Pretty nice place to chill despite the hot humid weather & we can't be separated from our BB's ..lol .. *

(Tea time @ Alexis, The Gardens )

* One of my fav's, a subtle place to relax and have a bite & drinks of course *

We were feeling a bit peckish, so we ordered some sides to share ...

* Rocket and Parmesan Salad (again, they could've been more generous on the Parmesan) *

* Roasted potatoes - Yummy!! My fav sides @ Alexis *

* Our drinkies - Cold, glass of beer for me and choc shake for Couzie (he decided to take a break from alcohol) *

After Alexis, we were contemplating whether to continue to walk around or save some energy for tomorrow and head for Happy Hour instead. The latter won. So, Zouk Cafe was the next place of destination.

(Happy Hour @ Zouk Cafe, The Gardens)

* Check this out : Happy Hour promo - Buy 1 free 1 *

* Gin & tonic - Erm! We had 3 glasses of these babies each. Chill, much? Totally!!! *

Around 8pm, we decided to head to Ninja Joes @ Northpoint for dinner but little did we know what we were about to encounter... The god damn place WAS CLOSED!!! Frustrating, 'coz we had to lug ourselves from Gardens to MidValley to Northpoint. Long journey!!! I guess business wasn't good so they decided to close the place plus, location wise was bad because Northpoint was a very quiet place to have a Japanese Izakaya. Hence, dinner was at Xenri, Old Klang Road instead. A major consolation, I must say!!

(Dinner @ Xenri D'RiverView)

* We decided to sit at the bar instead of the boring tables at the bottom .. *

* Fresh seafoods *

* More alcohol - Cold Sake! *

* Appetiser - Hanpen Cheese Age (Fried Japanese Fish Cake Stuffed with Cheese)  .. This stuff is amazingggg... Love it!! Must try!! *

* Sashimi of course is A MUST!!! *

* Inaniwa Udon - Delicious!! We had ours cold .. You can eat it hot too! *

* Watana Ebi Maki (Tempura Prawn Roll with Tanuki) *

* Couzie wanted dessert so we ordered the Sesame Ice-Cream ... Thumbs up!! *

I must say, Xenri has definitely entered my list of 'Must-try' Japanese Restaurants. Am totally satisfied, both food wise and service too!! Oh! Fyi, they have buffet promotions on Sunday, all-u-can-eat at RM50++. Worth a try!! What an amazing chill out day!!! The day ended with the famous Hokkien Mee supper @ Jalan 222. I'm stuffed for the day, that's for sure!!

p/s:- Another amazing thing is I DID NOT purchase anything!! *pat on the back* Hahaha... See! I do have self-control.. though I almost (but didn't) did splurge on the pair of metal green Aldo's that I've been eyeing on.

OMG!!! Saleeeeeeessssss ...

What a pleasant discovery!! Have just stumbled upon this site called Shopping n Sales (Psst ...already saved this link in my bookmark for future references!!!). And, guess what??

Too bad, I, of all person, should not even think of going or can not afford the luxury of sales or shopping at the moment!! Oh well .. Wtf!!! I am not so into Gucci (not saying it just to make myself feel better), except for their shoes, clothes and accessories. Plus, Gucci are for commoners. Oops! A bit of arrogance detected here ..but it's true!! Especially in Asian countries (MYS, HK, SG and bla! bla! bla!).

A perfect example would be HongKong. Walk along any streets in Tsim Sha Tsui area - especially Canton Road (where all the luxury stores are located), off-hand you can see the same Gucci or LV bag carried by 4 or 5 different person. Or nearer, go to Pavilion, KLCC, Mid-Valley etc.. the amount of people carrying either a Speedy or Neverfull (LV) is just ridiculous!! Or Gucci totes .. and some even have the audacity to carry fakes!! Eeeww ... an utter disgrace to all the bag lovers out there!!! If you can't afford one, then don't get one!

Reason being, go to any one of the malls, aunties, grandma's, 'ah lian's'  etc .. all carry the same stuff. Same goes to LV and Coach. And sad to say, usually to these type of homosapiens, LV, Gucci and Coach are the few luxury brands that they know of. SooOo typical!!

This reminds me of a personal experience over a year ago, during a Taipei trip. I will not mention names but what happen was like this:-

(@ FENDI store, Taipei 101)

Frenny, 'A': Which bag should I buy? Is it ok if I get the same Zucha as you? I loveeee the pink one (last one standing & the one that I chose).
Me: *speechless* Erm ........... I guess it's ok. Maybe we can check with the retail assistant to see whether there's stock.
Frenny 'B': Ok ... But I think I want to check out COACH first.
Frenny 'C' : Why of all brands, COACH??? Look! DIOR is around the corner, let's go and have a quick look first so that you have more options to play around with.

* After waiting for 20-30 mins, I had to scour to the Dior store to get them. Paid for our goods at FENDI and headed back to DIOR *

Frenny 'A' : Look! What do you think of this bag? Don't you think it's too expensive for a DIOR?
Me: What?? RM1800 (after conversion) is expensive? This is a DIOR bag we're talking about!!! I'd buy that in split second. (@#$%^& in my mind, frustration level = medium)
Frenny 'A' : Really? But not many people know of this brand.
Frenny 'B' and me : *frustration escalating*  You have got to be kidding!!! Anyone who doesn't know DIOR is a loser .. Besides, why care about others? You are the one paying for the bag.
Frenny 'A' : I know, but I want others to know which brand of bag I'm carrying mah... Can I check out COACH first? I think I prefer COACH over DIOR. 'Coz more people can recognize COACH bags.
Frenny 'B', 'C' and me : =.= III ...

 Omg! It was most frustrating, talking to someone who clearly DO NOT KNOW anything about luxury brands. And the cherry on the cake was, she was the most indecisive   person EVER!!!! Even the guys, B & C can't take it too..

I reckon, there should be LUXURY BRAND's education implemented for those who choose to carry these bags !!! *LOL* And some people have not even heard of Balenciaga, D'Squared, Roberto Cavalli etc... What is wrong with these people??? Geez ..

Better go stuff myself with breakfast to ease the frustration.. *LOL*

haulage from Down Under ..

Gidday mate! Oooh La la La ..What a blast I had with my beloved Couzies in WA!! It was more of a relaxing escapade and I do feel that the trip has changed me, my perception and my take on life. So, I'm back, feeling recharged and ready to conquer the world .. (Nahh...on the conquer the world part.. LOL).

Anyways, thou must share my holiday haulage 'coz it's been ages since I last shopped. Not much on clothings but more on a variety of things especially food stuff *hearts* .

  • Booze - I can't leave liquorland without bringing back some good wines, eh? Hell yeah!!! *evil grin*

* Haulage from Margeret River *

* Traveller's exclusive - Absolut Vodka. I'm a traveller, aren't i? *

P/S: Psst... let you in on a secret ..I brought back 4 bottles of wine in my check-in luggage!! Teehee.. Oh! The vodka was from LCCT's duty free. So, yeah! 5 bottles of booze, in total! Woot~
  • Cheese - My family favourite .. Whoever who don't consume this delectable dairy product is certainly missing a slice of heaven in life. Believe it or not, I hauled the 1 kg block of cheddar in my hand luggage, which was also was on the border of being overweight (my check-in luggage was 21.1 kg). However, it was definitely worth all the backaches and shoulder-aches!
* Onion & Chive cream cheese, Herb & Garlic baked ricotta & Tasty cheddar. *
  • Chocolates and biscuits - Bought some gourmet chocs from the Chocolate Factory @ Margaret River. BTW, I got my Papa a bar of SUGAR-FREE milk chocolate .. Cool, eh? I know my Papa loves chocs but am conscious of his blood-sugar level taking a hike each time he indulges. So, Papa fear not, it's sugar-free!! *winks*
* Gourmet chocs - bit on the expensive side ;) *

* Note: (Lower left) Chicken in a biskit was one of the biscuits I loved when I was a child. Reminiscence of my childhood hit me each time I savor these chicken-flavored biscuits. *
  • Etc - Fear not! The list continues ... *laughs*
* Omega-3 for the parents & lanolin (placenta) cream for the sister. *

* Berries (raspberry & blueberry) and muesli for baking. *

* Chicken salt & Vegemite *

* What a steal!! My $5 bikini top, original price was $24.99. Ain't that a bargain? *

* Fridge magnets (frennie's request) *

* Homemade candle melts from Freo *

Coming up, pics of my 'Living the Aussie life' escapade .. stay tuned!
