So.. friend of Miss N's (partner in crime), S, who has been working in HCM city for quite some time, came to pick us up for dinner. He brought us to this authentic Vietnamese restaurant, Tib (www.tibrestaurant.com.vn), located in District 3 and apparently, it was one of the most expensive & exclusive restaurant in the city. Pretty hidden in one of the alleys and reservations must be made ahead of time. Food was great and I give it an 8.5/10.
* The book of good food *
* The interior *
* Mysterious entrance *
* Road (more of an alley..hehe!) to Tib *
* My fav dish - Bahn Beo (rice pancakes with dried shrimp)*
* Fish sauce & super hot chilli (to be placed on the Bahn Beo) *
* Bahn uot tom chay - crumbled shrimp wrapped with fresh rice paper *
* Goi ngo sen - Shrimp and lotus sprout salad (eaten with prawn crackers) *
* Banh uot tit nuong - barbequed pork wrapped in fresh rice paper *
* Peanut dipping sauce *
* Dinner in Saigon is not complete without bia (beer). Cheers!! *
Filled to the brim, we took a cab to the Opera House area. The night seems to bring out the best in Saigon city. A totally different feeling, with the lightings along the streets and buildings. And there was this particular intersection, around Louis Vuitton boutique, it hit upon us that it looks like a mini Paris. I guess that's the reason why Saigon city was named 'Paris of Asia'.
* The lalala..Opera House *
* With the kiasu-ness instilled in us, we decided to take a pic with the silly 'lil tree behind us since everyone was taking pics..ahaha!! *
* Louis Vuitton was closed by the time we reached - But fear not!! We will be back!!! *
After browsing around and bit of cam-whoring on the streets, we proceeded to the rooftop bar, Saigon Saigon at Caravelle Hotel (one of the oldest 5 star hotel in the city) and hung out a bit for drinks. I certainly loved the concept of rooftop bars (there's another cool one located on top of Rex hotel) 'coz you geta enjoy the city view. A breath of fresh air!! We should have more of this in KL city.. don't you think so too?
